Woman of the Ghetto



So... I just came up on this beautiful promo copy of Marlena Shaw's "Live at Montreux" lp for quite cheap. Been looking for this one for years and years. The version of Woman of the Ghetto on it is one of the best live recordings of any track, ever. It got me to thinking about some of the other classics it gave us.

I almost like it better than Marlena's original album cut. It feels a little grittier.
